Read Around The Park
Read Around the Park 2008 will be held on Saturday November 15th from 10am to 4pm at the Dr. James R Smith Neighborhood Center , 1723 Bruton Blvd, Orlando, FL 32805
For the almost 12 million children living below the poverty level in the United States today, growing up with books of their own is a dream rather than a reality.
More that 60% of low income families have no books at all for their children.
Over 80% of programs serving children in need have no age appropriate books or other printed materials. The statistics are stark. The need is great. Help bring the magic of books to these children by promoting this effort to increase literacy in Central Florida.
The third Read Around the Park festival sponsored by the Montsho Foundation will bring local, national storytellers, authors, illustrators and donate books to children in the
